March 2017 – The LIFE.S workstation programme has won this year's iF DESIGN AWARD, ranking it amongst winners of this internationally respected design accolade in the "Office category".
The iF DESIGN AWARD is presented every year by Germany's oldest independent design institution, the iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover. Criteria for the design prize include – as well as design – the degree of innovation, ergonomics and functionality of the products. LIFE.S convinced the international jury of 58 independent experts.
The fresh, clear-cut design of the LIFE.S workstation programme is combined with a high practical value and customisation potential. With four frame types to choose from, LIFE.S integrates perfectly into any work environment as a single workstation, bench configuration or conference system. The cylindrical tube legs and rounded desk edge accentuate its contemporary look. The felt-covered panels have a dimpled structure and provide elegant visual privacy, while acting as an efficient acoustic absorber to ensure a quiet working environment.
The great selection of organiser elements and storage accessories can be attached simply with magnets and emphasises the personal touch. LIFE.S had already received the innovation prize Architecture + Office from a jury of high-calibre architects at the ORGATEC.
For König + Neurath, entering and winning these competitions serves as confirmation of their own innovative power. The number of entrants was high: jurors had to choose between 5575 contenders from 59 countries to pick the winner of the coveted quality seal. The sought-after trophy was formally awarded in a prize ceremony at BMW Welt in Munich on 10.03.2017, in front of an audience of 2000 people from the world of design.
For the past 60 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been recognised as an internationally renowned quality mark for exceptional design. The iF brand is established worldwide as a symbol of outstanding design achievements. The iF DESIGN AWARD is considered one of the most important design prizes in the world. All prize-winning entries are showcased in the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE, published on the iF design app and exhibited in the iF design exhibition Hamburg.
